Before installing tested it out on some ice in my driveway. Left a portion of it coiled up with the other half stretched out across the driveway. The stretched out portion melted straight through the ice within a matter of hours the part that I left coiled up melted its own plastic outer layer. Going to have to order a new one but very impressed with how quickly it melted through the ice. Just make sure it's not touching itself once plugged in.

Does everything they said it would do.

Lost power and gutters froze solid. When power came back on it only took about 2 hrs to completely melt the ice.

As advertised. Easy installation and seems to be of good quality.

Applied these to our hoses and pipes in our unheated laundry room. Now we don’t have to run a space heater in that area, which is much safer. It saves us money because these cables use way less energy to keep the pipes from freezing. Easy to apply and they work really well, coming on only when needed to prevent the pipes from freezing.

So far it has kept the water running in my standpipe that I use to get water to our livestock. Before when it was below freezing we would have to haul buckets, but so far this heater has solved that problem. We'll see how long it holds up.
